Anxiety is one of the most common reasons people seek therapy. Whether you're experiencing generalised anxiety, social anxiety, health anxiety, or panic attacks, a qualified therapist can help you understand what's driving your anxiety and develop lasting strategies to manage it.
Therapy for anxiety often uses CBT, ACT, or mindfulness-based approaches. You'll learn to understand your anxiety response, challenge unhelpful thought patterns, and build tolerance for uncertainty. Many people see significant improvement within 8–16 sessions.
If anxiety is affecting your sleep, work, relationships, or stopping you from doing things you want to do, therapy is worth considering. You do not need a diagnosis to seek help — a therapist can assess your situation in the first session.
CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy) has the strongest evidence base for anxiety disorders. ACT and mindfulness-based approaches are also highly effective. Your therapist will recommend the most appropriate approach based on your specific situation.
Many people with anxiety see significant improvement within 8–16 sessions. Milder anxiety can respond quickly; more complex or long-standing anxiety may benefit from longer-term work. Your therapist will review progress with you throughout.
